Is This The Correct DNS On My Self-Managed Server?

Please ensure that your Self-Managed Server is configured to make use of the relevant recursive DNS servers:

Linux Servers:


Nameservers are configured in the relevant configuration file for the Linux distribution your server is running.


Windows Servers:


Windows Server machines may be configured in the Advanced TCP/IP settings on the interface.


  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Click Network and Internet.
  3. Click Network and Sharing Center.
  4. Click Change adapter settings in the left pane
5. Right-click the public-facing interface and select Properties

6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then Properties

7. Under the General tab, “Use the following DNS server addresses” will be selected, showing at least 2 recursive nameservers

8. To configure more than 2 servers, select the Advanced option

9. Select the DNS tab

10. Recursive name servers can be added or removed from here.

11. Select OK once done


Please note:


  • haimsait will provision Self-Managed Servers with 3 recursive name servers for Windows and Linux installations.
  • We do not assist with the configuration of Self-Managed Servers. If you require further assistance with DNS configuration, you will need to contact your system administrator.
